Service Description

Your day will run from 10am till 4pm (ish) & will involve a training session with Laura Roberts from K9 Find it. Laura has been fascinated by the olfactory skills of dogs for over a decade, leading her to explore a variety of disciplines. She has qualified and deployed two of her hounds as scent specific trailing dogs with the police, and currently trains her own dogs in HRD and digital hardware detection. A qualified instructor with both UK and Dutch organisations, she enjoys the variety of methodologies available to students of the nosework sports, seeking to find the most appropriate way to solve the problems teams face throughout their journey. Laura has a particular love for “the geeky stuff”, including the impact of ethology, air flow and environmental impacts on odour, and independence vs interdependence of the human/dog team during the search. This day is open to any level of experience including beginners. Laura will work on any areas you would like. She will help you trouble shoot any issues and progress you and your dog on Refreshments are provided but please do bring lunch As dogs are worked one at a time must be okay settling in vehicles. Please note location will be confirmed nearer the time but it will be within half an hour of Northallerton.
